1. Approval of last minutes
Tanja points out that there is a mistake in the minutes of September 25th 2008. David will change it. Apart from that, the minutes of September 25th 2008 are approved by all present members.
2. General Assembly
The committee decides what points should be dealt with on the General Assembly of the Arts Council on October 15th 2008. The schedule is as follows:
- Introduction (by Chris)
- Approval of all members and mentioning that, if interested, more students can join the Arts Council (by Chris)
- Finances (by Tanja)
- Current and future projects, including the sub-committee for the 11th anniversary of the Arts Council: Film Club (by Alex), 'place name here' (by Alex), Endgame (by Björn), Panto (by Alex), sub-committee (by Chris).
3. Sub-committee
The committee decides that the sub-committee will no longer be a team for gathering ideas, but a producers’ team, which would try to organise some projects, because there already are enough projects ideas. The sub-committee would have to come to an Arts Council meeting in order to be introduce to the tasks. It is also clear that the Arts Council would always have to agree with what the sub-committee is doing. Franz and Chris say they would be happy to help with the sub-committee. - The suggested projects for the 11th anniversary of the Arts Council are:
- Shakespeare Roadshow: “How to get well-read in Shakespeare in one hour”
- Panto: We need someone to organise it. It should be staged in February or March. The cast would have to rehearse over the term break.
- Endgame: David and Björn inform the Arts Council that they would like to stage Samuel Beckett’s Endgame around May 2009. Simon Hicks agreed to do the directing.
- Murder Mystery: Tanja says that she would like to do a Murder Mystery again in the next autumn semester
- Poetry Road Show
- Multilingual Poetry Slam
4. Project information about 'place name here'
Alex presents the budget of the play 'place name here'. Tanja says that it is not in the newly requested form. Nevertheless, the committee approves of it. However, Selina Gasser will have to hand it in in proper form later. The committee agrees to pay the 4150.- francs which are on the budget.
5. AOB
- Franz informs the Arts Council that the posters for the concert of Dewi Williams and Dick Watts on the 23rd of October are done. He will try to put the Arts Council logo onto them, but if it doesn’t work, the Arts Council will probably be mentioned at the concert for paying 50.- for the posters.
- The committee decides on a photo session for the photos on the website, since Björn points out that it would be nice to have photos of similar style online. The photo session will probably take place in the next meeting.
