1. Welcome
Simon (substituting for Ron) welcomes everyone to the joint General Assembly of the AC with the Students' Committee.
2. Approval of Last Minutes
The minutes of the last meeting on November 15 are approved without opposition.
3. Introduction to Arts Council
Simon harks back to the history of the Arts Council back in the 1990s and justly praises our organization for the wonderful support it has given to projects that would otherwise not have roared to life in the first place. The thing, of course, is to whet the appetite of all those eager new students (as there was not quite enough real food anyway) and to get as many new members as possible (which should pay off as one will witness in the below).
4. Approval of the Accounts
Tanja presents all the information about transactions and financial matters concerning the Arts Council accounts. They are approved unanimously. The financial report for THE DUCHESS OF MALFI is still awaited (Matt will inform the Council at the next meeting).
5. Re-election of the Members of the Council
The members are all re-elected (Simon, Werner Senn, Tanja, Cindy, Simone, Emanuel, Matt, Sam).
6. Election of Chairperson
Tanja is elected Chairperson of the Arts Council (How about Chairlady?) and is taking over business forthwith.
7. New Members
Quite surprisingly, four new members (Regula, Angela, Alexandra and Myriam) join the Arts Council. Thanks so much, that will be a wonderful new year! Myriam is taking over the treasury (?) from Tanja. Thanks again!! Please check for their e-mail addresses in the above. (Email addresses deleted from online version.)
8. Suggestions for New Projects
Matt announces a new theatre project (Pinter play) for the fall of 2006. He will contact the Arts Council in time.
Franz (who continuously interrupted the proceedings with halfbaked ideas and seemed to have joined the meeting for pure lack of lunch) proposed to organize a fund raising event for the Arts Council. This was, for the moment, deemed unnecessary.
9. Questions and A.O.B.
The Film Club will screen HAROLD AND MAUDE next Tuesday (December 13) at 6.15 p.m. It would be great if some of you could join and support us. It is surely a must see!
I'm just wondering how the presentation of that Students Committee member went after a certain F.A.M. had introduced her to the advantages of boozing to avoid stage fright...!
