1. Agenda
There was no agenda for the meeting. The secretary apologised.
2. Minutes Meeting 14 November 2001
The minutes of the last meeting had not been written either. Apologise from the secretary.
3. Projects
a) Richard III
A detailed budget had not been received so far. But one point had been clarified, i.e. that the PR will be less expensive than for Top Girls. The council insisted on a new budget, which would be handed in to Priya, who would then send it out to the other members. The vote for final approval would be via e-mail. The dates for the performances were announced: 11, 12, 15, 16, and 17 May 2002.
b) Homespun evening
it was decided that Franz should be asked to hand in a proposal to Priya, who would then send it out to everybody for the vote. It would be possible to do the homespun evening as a recurrent event, but we would still need an initial proposal.
c) Panto: report
The panto made a gain of approximately SFr 1000. The production was quite expensive, and the Mappamondo is not at all an ideal venue.
d) Drama weekend: report
The theatre week-end was a success, it will cost at the most SFr 900. The participants pay SFr 60, and there were 24 participants and 4 workshop teachers.
4. AOB
- As Toby resigns, Nicolette will take over the cellar, and Giovanni the mailing list. As to new members, Giuseppina volunteered to organise this, i.e. to contact the student's committee and to promote the fact that we are looking for new members.
- Giuseppina asked whether there were any possibilities to fund projects outside the English Department. That possibility does not exist.
- Simon was saying that it was possible that there was going to be another one-act-play evening, and he got the go-ahead, and was told to hand in a proposal at the next meeting.
- There was general agreement that the organisers of the advent calendar should be complemented on their excellent work.
- The next meeting will be organised by Giovanni who will send out an e-mail to all the members.
